9 - 09 Mr. Tom Healy from Rockford got a new Michigan State Record Brown trout of 41 lb. 7.25 oz 47 in. long at the mouth of Bear Creek on big Manistee River just a few miles from R & J Resort. He caught some salmon before hooking the big one near the Bear Creek access point.   "Click Here"

September 2001 - New Campsites Being Created
Cutting new roadway through the forest for new campsites  Selective cutting removes poplars and preserves large hardwood trees.
